Study Case

Transgenesis; Bisikan Rimba is a sci-fi novel gengre written by Amir Husaini. Its about cloning and others moral and eco-ethics facts. This author want to promote this novel by using video as a medium of interaction with the readers. He want to give some teaser about this book and at the same time to persuade reader to buy this book.

 

Solution:

We want to create question in every part of teaser. The agenda is, we decide to create 3 teaser + 1 promo in one long timeline ( 90secs ). This must be include W element such as why?, who?,when? and what?. in the same time we are proving this book is full of funtasy , nature and revenge. The scenery is in a black mood since the character itself in gloomy mood

This project have been endorsed to Resobugs Creative ( as a partnership in production and post production team ) by Qubicmind Web Expert to create a promo. We have to sit down and brainstorming together. Thus, this is some snapshot of our brainstorming :

Production

 

Well we are not a big production group yet ( i think we can be consider as indie-video-production group, hehe ). Yup, and we only just a bunch of my friend and a few gadget to help us out in this production. As you can see there is a lot of dirty and clumsy blue screen (yeah we admit it). Yeah we still need much fund to handle this. So, who's interested to be our funder? :)

 

We lack of lighting, ( we try to rent some studio or some lighting from existing production company ( but it is not cheap ma.. ) the budget is not so much to cover all that (studio) expenses

 

We shoot at the morning ( we recommend to shoot at night so we can control the lighting...but the actress only have free time at the morning..) So, we have to try our best.

 

Thanks to all the small crew , Razman Ramli @dato ( editor, actor, and props setup) ' , Mohd Nazri@ nazri ( lighting, 3d artist) , Nur Hidayah@ dayah ( make-up artist) , Nurazlin Ismail@aleen ( actress), and the most important direction art is Anwar Fikri@ fik ( art director. motion grapher, editor). Yeah and we learn some from Mr Azdi Khairil ( Qubicmind founder ) methodology.

Post Production

 

Again.. we need to draw some line back. To precise the workflow and make a good composition in our video. The idea is, we want to put some "ingredient" to our video by using 3D element. We are using 3D Max , certain part by using Maya to modeling and animate. For compositing we are using After Effect only ( we hope to using Shake for color grading and compose , if only we had some fund to buy at least a Mac machine ( our dream machine) . So, have a look at some of our sketches back then... (later on we will add some pics we work in process)
